Prevas and Kontigo Care have together won the Swedish Embedded Award 2014 in the Enterprise category with TripleA.
This is the seventh time that Prevas has been nominated for the Swedish Embedded Award and the third time Prevas has won the award.
Kontigo Care develops products for assisting chemical dependency care in improving and increasing the effectiveness of prevention methods, treatment methods and post treatment of alcoholism and related dependencies.
Together with Prevas, they have developed the TripleA product, which includes a wireless alcohol monitoring device and provides entirely new capabilities for helping alcoholics during critical periods after leaving rehab centers. Moreover, care providers and those that commission care gain an opportunity to follow up treatment quality with the product as well as conduct analyses and implement measures for improvements. The societal aspects related to economy are enormous.
“We're happy that we chose Prevas as our partner in developing TripleA,” says Daniel Benitez, CEO for Kontigo Care. “We're certain that with time, TripleA will change how we provide chemical dependency care, reduce suffering and save considerable resources for society.”
The illness alcoholism and its aftermath constitute a major financial burden for society and also produce enormous consequences in the form of human suffering for children, partners, parents and close friends caught up in the chaos that follows in the wake of alcoholism. TripleA is a product that through the combination of wireless communications, an embedded handheld system, a mobile application and a data collection system, can improve the prerequisites for alcoholics leading a sober life.
“It’s exceedingly inspirational and satisfying to participate in developing an embedded system for a new innovative application that can really make a difference for individuals and our society,” says Kristoffer Andersson at Prevas AB. “TripleA is a very good example of how the capabilities of the ‘Internet of Things’ can be used in mHealth to create benefits for society and help people to live a better life.”
